đ” Paris: The City of Light Loves Green Drinks – Where to Find Good Matcha in the French Capital?
Tags: #ParisMatcha #MatchaFrance #ParisCafes
Matcha Maya: Bonjour from Paris, the City of Light. It is known for romance, food, and is one of the best places around the world for food. I am on a small stone street in the busy Marais part of the city. Old buildings and people fill the area. Today, I will share how matcha has become so popular here. With me is Camille Dubois. She writes about food and loves matcha. She knows many good spots in Paris.
Camille: Maya, welcome to Paris! This city is known for food and new taste ideas. We love our café crÚme, but matcha now has a spot here, too. It's smooth, simple, and brings a taste that fits right in Paris.
That’s great! If you are trying matcha for the first time, where is a good place to start your matcha journey?
Camille: You really have to go to Umami Matcha Café in the 17th arrondissement. The place is all about matcha and it has everything from classic matcha to fun lattes. They even have a new spot where you can get takeaway. There is also Terrah Coffee Shop & Roasters. People love it for the great matcha lattes you can have there.
Matcha Maya: How about something that is more stylish and has that feel of Paris?
Camille: Then you have to go to Fauna or Noir – these are two cool places in the Marais that serve matcha with a feel of Paris. Seasons Marais is also a favorite. It has a warm feel where you can sit, have a matcha, and watch people pass. And for something special, Kafeibaie serves a matcha affogato that tastes amazing.
Matcha Maya: I love that! And how is the coffee scene there?
Camille: Paris has a great coffee scene, and many of the good spots also have very good matcha. Fringe is known for its simple look and good matcha lattes. Two is also a place that people here like a lot. The best idea is to find places that get top matcha from Japan and make it well.
Matcha Maya: It seems like you can find matcha in Paris for any mood or time.
Camille: Yes, that's right! You can choose a classic ceremony, try the new café trend, or just grab some matcha to go. Paris has all of these choices. People here love good things and enjoy beautiful moments, so it's a great place for matcha.
Matcha Maya: One last, very simple question. How can you get from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to the Rue de Rivoli, the main shopping street where people can buy matcha drinks or cakes?
Camille: That's simple! Charles de Gaulle Airport is about 25 km northeast of Paris. The fastest way to get there is by taking the RER B train from the airport. This train goes to ChĂątelet–Les Halles station and takes about 30–35 minutes. After that, Rue de Rivoli is just a short walk away. A taxi will cost between €50 and €60. A taxi ride takes about 40–60 minutes, depending on traffic. When you are on Rue de Rivoli, you will find many cafĂ©s and shops. You can enjoy a matcha latte or try some matcha treats there!
Matcha Maya's Verdict: Paris is a city that shows style in all it does. The matcha spots here match the city's charm. You will find everything from old tea customs to fresh café ideas. If you like your matcha plain or want to try new things, Paris will have a green cup for you.
